EVENTS and WORKSHOPS
The studio specializes in Hatha yoga classes. Brenda believes yoga is accessible to everyone, so Yoga Magnolia offers classes that are safe and tailored to your needs. But the classes will bring you out of your comfort zone! Practicing yoga offers you an opportunity to explore your balance, stretch deeply, relieve sore muscles, establish a strong connection with the breath and enhance mindfulness. The classes are small, so there’s plenty of individual attention. Props and modifications are readily given if you so desire. Men and women, of all ages, make up the student population. Some new teachers will be coming on board in 2017, so this is very exciting news!
Yoga Magnolia also holds a Weight Loss Workshop on Mondays (six sessions). The focus is on nutrition counseling, daily movement and reducing stress. (Usually Monday evenings at 6 p.m.). Stay tuned for the next Workshop.
The January Workshop was a huge success. We had 15 participants for self-defense with Chris and Justin and then we had a two-hour afternoon session on Feng Shui. Susanna also did a "smudging." Past Yoga Magnolia’s Workshops have featured a Naturopathic Doctor (Trey), a Reiki Master (Terry), a Meditation Specialist (Martha).
Last summer, we had a poetry reading, by one of our own yogis, Robin. Her new book is available on Amazon, "Tap." Copies of the book are also available at the studio; pick up one for $8.
We organized a road trip to Triangle Yoga in Chapel Hill on April 22, 2017. Eight yogis from the studio signed up quickly. Definitely need to do this again; maybe in the fall? Thank you Triangle Yoga for a lovely afternoon!
